Star Wars: Episode 6.1 - Smuggle Me This

Log from Saturday, April 23, 2011. Characters playing were Sam, Zenga Fett, Wachoowa, and Cameron.

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away, Sam, a smuggler, and Zenga Fett, a bounty hunter who works and travels with Sam, find themselves in the Mos Eisley Cantina knocking down some drinks and looking for a job. Lance Silentio, on behalf of the Rebel Alliance of the Minos Cluster, buys the two a round of drinks along with his companions Wachoowa the Wookie, and Cameron, a young, male human. They agree on terms to deliver some cargo and transport Wachoowa and Cameron to Gesaril in the Minos Cluster. Lance will pay them 10,000 credits up front, and they will receive an additional 7,500 credits upon successful arrival.

On the way back to their ship in docking bay 72, Sam and Zenga do some research and talk to contacts to find out more about the Minos Cluster. After finishing up their research at the ship, Wachoowa and Cameron arrive with the cargo, soon followed by Lance. After learning about the Empire's blockade at Travnin, the only known entrance to the Minos cluster, Sam expresses some doubt about whether his stock YT-1300 (The Wind-Blown Leaf) can get through the blockade. After conferring with Wachoowa, Lance decides to offer assistance with some information, but for a price. Sam and Zenga agree to take 2,500 credits off the transport price and provide a favor for the receiver of the shipment on the other side, Talia Mirrors, for information about a secret hyperspace route from the core worlds of the Empire into Mestra, a remote asteroid belt in the Minos Cluster.

Armed with a fantastic new route, the crew prepares to embark on their mission, but not before buying an astromech droid from some Jawas to assist with the difficult astrogation required for this special route. They name the droid R2-D6.

They leave Tatooine and enter hyperspace, destined for Dantooine, the center of the galaxy, and the quickest way through to Corruscant. Along the journey, Sam gets curious about the cargo which they stashed in an empty container, and opens it for a look. Although injured in the attempt as the two containers clasped shut on his back and shoulder, Sam gets a brief glimpse of some ship components he has never seen before. After getting treatment from Zenga, they decide to just leave the container alone.

Once at Dantooine, the ship docks at the space station for some droid parts and medpacs. Then R2 does some nifty astrogation and the trip from Dantooine to Coruscant takes a couple hours less than anticipated. They check in with the local Imperial officials with a bogus destination, and con their way into the holding pattern without arousing suspicion that they are actually not going to Correlia as stated. With R2's astronavigation, they easily make the jump to Mestra in record time for a x2 hypedrive based ship.

Once there, they run a quick scan to make sure they are in the correct system, and find an Imperial Advanced Scout, which in turn scans and identifies them. They quickly make the last jump to Gesaril to avoid confrontation and arrive to find a secret Rebel shipyard. They make contact with Lt. Commander Talia Mirrors, and she grants them access to land. Talia is angered that they were told of the secret hyperspace route, and even more so that they were scanned at Mestra, and allowed the advanced scout to survive. She secretly hopes that bureaucracy will prevail, and this information will never be noticed by the Empire. They provide the cargo and passengers and get paid the 5000 credits by the Rebel Alliance, and are allowed to stay and wait to find out what favor the Lt. Commander will ask of them.
